Bite Me Puritan Coven Series Book 1 Audible Audio Edition Louise Cypress Reba Buhr Alexander Cendese Tantor Audio Books Reviews

  • Bite Me by Louise Cypress is an excellent book. It reminded me so much of Buffy the Vampire Slayer mixed up. I am very impressed with this book a lot. Ms. Cypress is able to do a lot from the two different point of views she used in the book. And within those two different points of view, we got to know all the characters they were around, who the point of view characters are, and with how well they are dealing with this situation.

    Morgan
The first main character is Morgan and she’s the first point of view we read from in the book. For me, I was able to relate to the character so much, especially about what life was like in high school. Except for the turning into a vampire, having a crazy mom and an actual good father. Morgan is a really great kid who doesn’t even like scary things which is kind of funny, you know because of what she is now. What I like about Morgan is that she isn’t afraid to speak her mind. She is also a bit naïve about certain things but that can’t be blamed. What I don’t like about her is that she makes some rash decisions and that she didn’t believe that she is a vampire at first. In my mind from the Buffy the Vampire Slayer Morgan is Angel (you know the vampire with the soul, Buffy’s first boyfriend).

    Van
The second main character is Van and he’s the other point of view we read from in the book. For me, the only thing I was able to relate to from the character is the moving around. We didn’t move around every six months but we moved. Van is a pretty nice guy when he isn’t in his slayer mode and I like that about him. Van can also be a douche about some things and that is one of the things that I dislike about him and the other is that he could have handled telling Morgan a bit better about vampires than the way he did. The things that I like about him are he is a slayer but he is also good to his sister. Van can also be a little overprotective of his sister, which is cute. He is a good guy around Morgan. In my mind from the Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Van is Buffy.

    Big Evil
Now this one I don’t want to actually spoil it. It’s a big part of the main overall plot of the story and I don’t want to ruin it. That’s one thing that I hate about some books is spoiling the best part for some people. Anyways this big evil doesn’t exactly show up for a while in the book and it’s a crucial plot point for me to not spill. I know for a fact that you might not see the big evil coming until its already too late. That’s all I can really tell you. In my mind from the Buffy the Vampire Slayer the Big Evil is Drusilla.

Watch for the prom and let me know if it reminds you of anything. I would so tell you more but no spoilers today.

    Five Stars
Bite Me by Louise Cypress is an excellent book and I can’t wait to read the next one. I am giving this book five stars as I couldn’t sleep at all last night, I had to finish this book. I am recommending this book to all my readers out there that are young adult fans that also like paranormal romance and of course are into Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Hunt Me is next book in the Puritan Coven Series and it will be released Monday, May 21st, 2018.

Anyways until next time enjoy this review brought to you by

  • Bite me was a fun, fast-paced story that kept me up well past my bedtime several nights last week as I always had to read just one more chapter. As a writer, I enjoyed the fresh spin on a vampire story and the well-developed characters. I found Morgan, the protagonist, to be a very relatable teen girl. Although she became a model-gorgeous, triple D breasted teenager on the outside after she contracted vampiritis, she was the same smart, dorky, self-doubting girl on the inside.

As a mother, I like that the book has a story that appeals to an older reader (teen or adult), but the content doesn’t make me cringe imagining my own daughter reading it. I also like that Bite Me portrays women as strong characters (often more powerful than the men in their lives). It’s a book I feel good giving to my young teen daughter to read.
  • Not great. Not bad. Just ok. You know that feeling of ambivalence you get when you finish a book and there is nothing wrong with it, the writing is ok, the characters are developed ok, editing ok etc and yet you know the whole thing will be forgotten by the time it takes to pick your next book .... that is this book.
  • I'm so glad I read this book! Morgan and Van are so natural, they are completely believable, I love when a vampire story rings true, like "Wow, this could actually happen!" And there's two more books in the series, so I can get deep into the world! I love series.
  • Very child like writing. Intended to keep the attention of jr highest maybe.
  • Loved it. And keep reading the next two (Hunt Me and Slay Me, )to round out the series
  • I couldn't put this down! Fast paced, a little action, and a little tension between a vampire and a slayer! It was great!
  • Good book.
